Abstract

This article uses Laurence Bardin's Content Analysis to investigate the representation of the black population in the Brazilian media, contrasting the coverage of Folha de S. Paulo (hegemonic media) with Alma Preta Jornalismo (counter-hegemonic media). The research, structured around four categories of analysis (Actors, Themes, Evaluation, and Dynamics), analyzed critical events between 2020 and 2024, such as the murder of João Alberto Silveira Freitas and the extension of the Quota Law.
