Abstract

This article is based on a chapter of the master's dissertation “Displacements and(m) discourse: a material analysis of politics and journalism in Ribeirão Preto”. During the research and the elaboration of the dissertation, we noticed a problem when conceptualizing what would be the “journalistic discourse” within the field of French Discourse Analysis. We understand journalism as a place where speeches and sayings pass. Instead of characterizing journalistic discourse as a crystallized unit, we will analyze it as a discursive practice. The sum of these practices creates the form-journalism.
