This article analyzes the different Chilean pension systems from the perspective of the principles of Social Security. When corroborating that the private Individual Capitalization system does not meet the minimum standards to be considered a Social Security system, he pauses to analyze the Chilean distribution system. It examines how the replacement rate of the three main savings banks of the old system is reached and the difference with the Individual Capitalization system is evidenced. It concludes with the proposal to open the possibility for contributors to freely choose the pension system to which they wish to adhere, this between the distribution system (old) or the Individual Capitalization system administered by the Administrators of pension funds
