HUMOR AND (M) YOUTUBE SPEECH: THE DERRISING POLICY
Abstract
In this article we seek to analyze the derisive political discourse aired on YouTube. More specifically, we selected two video montages entitled: Lula the Illiterate and Lula Bebum, who circulates in the media at the time of the 2006 Brazilian presidential elections, both of whom have the derisory target of then-candidate Luís Inácio Lula da Silva. Thus, in the political field, this process is taken as a mechanism of expression with the purpose of uncharacterizing the figure of the former president bringing some of his speeches and appearances at different times through the clipping of videos or images interspersed by derisory speech. To this end, the meaning that the producer intends to construct is always through implicit elements provided by the surprise that often provides the construction of humor as a result.
