The IMPACTS OF GLOBAL CLIMATE CHANGES ON CONTEMPORARY MIGRATORY FLOWS
Keywords:
Migratory flows, Climate changes, Ecological disastersAbstract
This paper aims to analyze the consequences of intense ecological disasters resulting from predatory exploitation undertaken by the capitalist structure, which are decisive for the increase in contemporary migratory flows. Using the method of hypothetical-deductive approach and procedure with bibliographical support, the question-problem intends to demonstrate how the destruction of the natural space, resulting from the indiscriminate economic exploitation, has an impact on the increase of world migratory flows today. Therefore, the analysis of the theme is fragmented, initially, in the context of the exploitation of the natural environment by the capitalist matrix, historically based on the anthropocentric bias of objectifying nature. In the second topic, it is intended to outline the climatic consequences caused by harmful economic activities and their correlation with the intensification of migratory movements. Based on the analysis developed, it is possible to demonstrate that forced displacements currently find one of their most harmful motivations in climate disorders resulting from predatory practices of exploitation of the natural environment and have an intricate path to solve existing impasses, considering that disasters and climate change, as it does not reach those responsible, do not have due prominence on the global agenda.
