CHILDHOOD AND YOUTH AND THE DIGITAL AGE: THE ACTIONS OF PROSECUTORS

Abstract

The article analyzes by the analytical-deductive method the complexity and challenge of protecting children and youth on the internet and social networks. It mentions the important role of interaction and collaboration of parents and guardians in the education and protection of our children in the digital age. It reveals institutional policies and the role of prosecutors in the defense of children and adolescents' fundamental rights to freedom, respect, and healthy development. It lists the main legal and procedural instruments available in the Brazilian legal system to protect and enforce these rights. It mentions the pioneering initiative of the "Cyber Gaeco" in the Public Ministry of São Paulo. Informs the need for training, agreements and partnerships with civil society entities for the good performance of this serious constitutional mission. It highlights the need for public policies for educational social assistance.
