DISRUPCIÓN DEL SISTEMA DE PENSIONES PERUANO EN LA GIG ECONOMY: ¿IGUALDAD E INCLUSIÓN PREVISIONAL?
Keywords:
Gig economy, social protection, pensions, old age and disruption.Abstract
With the advent of digital platforms or the "Gig" economy, an invisible job is born worldwide. As it is not subject to labour law, it is not covered by the social protection system, mainly in terms of access to a retirement pension in old age, as is the case of workers on digital platforms for profit-making goods (Amazon, eBay, Mercado Libre, App Store, Netflix, Airbnb, etc.) and services (Tinder, Facebook, Google, Rappi, Uber, DiDi, Cabify, Beat, etc.). There is an urgent need to disrupt pension systems in the face of this social phenomenon of Industry 4.0, among others, in order to move from a "labour-based" to a "non-labour-based" model of social protection. For this reason, this paper argues that, in Peru, it is essential and urgent to protect work in any of its modalities, categories and changes, such as the one that is being developed on platforms.
