POLITICAL SUSTAINABILITY OF PENSION SYSTEMS.

Abstract

We will begin with an introduction where the importance of seeking, in each pension system, the balance between financial and political sustainability will be presented. We will focus on the latter by referring, first, to identifying different concepts that the doctrine grants to it and one of our own. We will also address different perspectives of international organizations specialized in the matter, which show the need to work on political sustainability, proposing for our part two objectives that it would seek to satisfy. We will then propose three instruments that should be used to give it substance, namely: a pact for pensions, social dialogue and pension education. It will end with a brief conclusion.
