Objective: To identify the interventions used in managing anxiety in patients during the preoperative phase of brain neoplasm surgery. Method: Integrative review conducted in the Embase, Lilacs, PubMed/MEDLINE, Scielo, Scopus, and Web of Science databases in February 2024. The eligibility criteria included full-text studies published in the last 10 years, available free of charge, in English, Portuguese, or Spanish. Studies that did not focus on the preoperative phase and those including populations under 16 years of age were excluded. Results: A total of 7,738 articles were found, with only 10 articles included in the final sample. The main interventions identified were categorized into pharmacological – flupirtine and pregabalin; and non-pharmacological – holistic care, acupuncture, music intervention, virtual reality, perioperative nursing, physician-patient communication, and patient-centered approach. Conclusion: Different interventions have been used to manage preoperative anxiety in patients with brain neoplasms, with emphasis on non-pharmacological approaches, which have shown greater adherence and support due to their cost-effectiveness, minimally invasive nature, and low risk of adverse effects. However, further research is needed to expand the range of interventions available for this population.
